Summary of thesis | My research focus is on hydroclimate dynamics during the last deglaciation, using lake records from Switzerland, Iberia, and upstate New York to better understand the spatiotemporal patterns of hydroclimate, vegetation, and ocean-atmospheric-land interactions that occurred during important climate events such as the Younger Dryas, the 8.2 ka event, and the Little Ice Age. One of the key tools I will apply is the distribution and stable isotope composition of leaf waxes and other climate-sensitive biomarkers. Understanding past climate changes and their impacts on the climate system is crucial for predicting future climate shifts and developing effective strategies to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change. |
