Summary of thesis | The scope of my PhD thesis is to qualify and quantify the Oligocene/Miocene boundary (~24 Ma) by studying the terrestrial large mammal fauna of the Swiss Molasse Basin (especially the Ruminantia, Suiformes, Tapiridae and Rhinocerotidae groups) and comparing it to the European data. Moreover, the palaeoecological and palaeogeographical context will be established with the help of palaeontological and biogeochemical methods. |
