Summary of thesis | My PhD thesis focuses on the Oligocene-Miocene transition in Switzerland. My researches concentrate on Ruminantia and Cainotheriidae from the Swiss Molasse basin and Western Europe. Different methods, such as morphometry, comparative anatomy, dental microwear and tooth enamel microstructure are used to characterize palaeocology and phylogeny of these Mammals. Various methods for community analyses, like cenogram, ecological histogram, faunal index etc. are applied to determine the evolution of the environment from the Early Oligocene to the Early Miocene in Switzerland. |
