Day 1 - 14.4.2026: morning+ Monte Capodarso: piggy-back/wedge-top basin infill within the larger Caltanisetta afternoon Basin, interplay between syndepositional tectonic folding and sea-level variations study geometrical patterns and typical ramp facies and their temporal and spatial evolution late afternoon Butera: southernmost piggy-back basin infill of larger Caltanisetta Basin compare the results of the southern movement of the Sicilian fold-and-thrust belt lecture tectonic history of Sicily (45 min) evening dinner

Day 2 - 15.4.2026: morning Agrigento: calcarenite ramp deposits in the westernmost Caltanisetta Basin, overlying the Trubi Marls studied in the morning. afternoon Punta Maiata – Orbital forcing and Milankovic cylcicity in Trubi Marls, the lowermost infill of the larger Caltanisetta Basin. visit the Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point for Zanclean/Piacenzian (Pliocene)

Day 3 - 16.4.2026: Marsala: Interplay between tectonic uplift and sea-level fluctuation From braided river, shoreface, eolian dunes, lagoonal facies. Western Favignana: transect beach? upper shoreface study low-order sea-level fluctuations, facies transitions and corresponding types of bioturbation, high-energy scour events in the proximity of the carbonate factory. lecture depositional model Favignana (30 min)

Day 4 - 17.4.2026: morning Favignana Cliff: boat excursion to study the Cavallo Cliff section allowing for a detailed study of the offshore-transition ramp/ramp slope/distally steepened ramp environment afternoon Eastern Favignana: ramp slope facies, high-energy events and hydraulic jump-related processes, transition towards the offshore shelf facies

Day 5 - 18.4.2026: Visit Montegrande Quarry. Visit Segesta archeological site and carbonate ramps Visit the Segesta hot springs Day 6 - 19.4.2026: Visit depots at Sciacca are
