Description

The theme of this two-day course is coral palaeoreconstruction and the lessons that can be learned from related scientific fields. On the first day, Dr. Thomas Felis and Dr. Claire Rollion-Bard, both experts in the field of coral biomineralization, will give an overview of coral geochemistry and examples of paleoreconstructions. Dr. Nikita Kaushal and Dr. Sébastien Guillet will give a lecture on speleothems and dendroecology respectively. The combination of these research areas should stimulate a discussion following the lectures on methods and concepts currently applied to coral paleoceanographic research and potentially new research ideas.
